trieste, italy

We had a laid back afternoon in Trieste and this was fine with me because I have found how important it is to take it easy when you are traveling for weeks at a time.

Everyday cannot (and should not) be filled to the brim with excitement. Simply walking around and feeling the vibes of a completely new city you have never even heard of before should be entertaining enough during long term travel.
We only had a few hours to explore so we went walking and found a quiet, residential street where we sat on some steps and talked for an hour or two. It actually ended up raining so we hid out in a bookstore and looked thru photography books while we waited out the storm. Although pretty uneventful, It was still a very relaxing afternoon and it felt great to be off the ship for a few hours. After being in a city like Venice where every corner is busy as can be, Trieste was a nice break.
