I decided to spend this year's birthday relaxing and chilling out at Dave's place in Florida. I have "real" vacation time for 2 weeks at the end of this month plus flight attendant annual recertification in one week so I really wanted to have a relaxing few days for my birthday before all the mayhem October will bring.
On the way to Florida! I decided to bring my dog along for this little trip just for fun! He stays at home with my parents normally and I miss him so much when I travel.
+ Jupiter, my new favorite city in Florida
The day before my birthday we drove to Jupiter which is a city an hour from Fort Lauderdale where you can surf on certain days! There aren't many places you can surf in Florida so I was excited to check it out. Even though we went too late to rent a board, I am happy we went because this is my new favorite place in Florida! I felt like it had some mad Cali vibes, and Juno beach was just gorgeous. All the parts we saw of this city were very clean and classy and I can't wait to go back.
{ delicious birthday breakfast :-) thanks babe for all the little details which made my day so special! }
+ The restaurant
For my actual birthday, we decided not to go to Miami as planned and spend the day in Fort Lauderdale instead. For dinner, Dave looked up some places that allowed dogs (I always use THIS "bring fido" website to check out dog-friendly places when I have Monty with me) and that's how we discovered this awesome restaurant called YOLO. We ordered seafood and a nice bottle of white. Loved the restaurant's wonderful atmosphere and exceptional service. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
So grateful for what a wonderful year this past one has been and I am looking forward to the adventures and lessons in the year ahead! With every passing year, I see myself grow thru challenges that used to be so daunting and I see what matters in life become much more clear. I used to dread birthdays, but I think I am finally over that phase because life just keeps getting better. :)
Hope you all have a wonderful day/night! Now off to study my life away for the next week for recurrent flight attendant training.
xx,
Katelynn
