Canyoneering in Costa Rica!

Dave and I have been wanting to go Canyoneering for a while now so when we saw there was an opportunity to go in Costa Rica, we jumped at the chance! Canyoneering is an activity enjoyed by outdoor sport enthusiasts or Adrenalin junkies that is just recently becoming more popular. By definition, canyoning is "travelling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling (rappelling), and swimming."

We went thru a company near the Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna. I highly recommend the tour we chose. You can click HERE for more information if you are interested in doing it. Our tour included a lot of repelling down extremely high waterfalls, the largest being 220 ft, attached to only a rope and a harness. It was one of the scariest yet most exhilarating things I have ever done.
