Todays post is the third post in a series documenting our road trip through Costa Rica.
If you missed the first 2 posts, here are the links to the FIRST and SECOND parts of this Costa Rica road trip series!
So, you know when you find someone that fills a part of life you aren't the best at and they are great at and it is just wonderful? Well I am so happy that Dave is such a big planner and I can just sit back while traveling with him and trust in his last minute choices! He found a super awesome Canyoning adventure for us a few hours away from where we were staying and decided to make a complete change of plans and head there the next morning to spend our last night there before flying home.
The little unexpected morning road trip ended up being awesome because it was a completely different side of Costa Rica I have never seen before. The water near the area we stayed in La Fortuna was a lovely light blue and surrounded by mountains and the Arenal Volcano is a pretty epic thing to witness too! We could see the volcano from the room we stayed at which was beautiful. A little warning : the city of La Fortuna leaves much to be desired because most of the tourists that stay in the city are there just for the adventure type tours that Dave and I were there for.
I posted many more of the photos from the Canyoning adventure in a post HERE. I highly recommend trying out Canyoning if you ever get the chance. It makes the adrenaline rush of zip lining seem like a total joke! We basically free fell backwards down waterfalls and it was simply incredible.
