How to present yourself
From the second you walk into that interview or open
house, you are being observed. Recruiters want to see how you interact with
everyone you come into contact with so be friendly and chatty and kind to every
single person around you. If you are sitting around others and no one is
talking, be the one to initiate conversation! Start up some small talk. Maybe
think of some questions to ask the other candidates before arriving since you
may be too nervous once there to think of much to say. You can come up with
some easy go to questions on how to start a conversation in this setting
beforehand. All day long, remember that eyes are on you so don’t stop smiling
and sending out positive vibes, no matter how nervous you may be deep down!
Stand up straight and exude confidence while being friendly. TURN YOUR PHONE
OFF or put it in airplane mode to avoid using it as a crutch during the day to
look down at. At no point should your phone be brought out in front of others
during the day.
Preparing for interview questions
Before I went in for my interview, I did some research
online of common questions asked and I am so happy I did. To protect myself, I
will not give any details here of what questions they asked me but definitely
do a google search of possible questions for a flight attendant job. Be sure to
research a bunch about how the specific airline you are interviewing for sets
themselves apart from others, too. What is their claim to fame? How are they
trying to separate themselves from their competitors? Knowing these tidbits
will help you to stand out from the rest of the crowd when you respond to the
question with specific info on their airline. It shows that you care enough to
do the research on their airline and that you aren’t just trying to land any
flight attendant gig you can. Tell them why you would be a great addition into
THEIR specific ideologies.
