Tips from a flight attendant on how to make your next flight more enjoyable!

How to make your flight experience better!
Trust me, I know. Flying can be extremely uncomfortable. Flying is no longer super glamorous and comfortable unless you are one of the very few in first class! Here are some simple tips that have worked for me to make all the flights I take in a week more enjoyable. I hope they change your mindset next time you are flying to look forward to your uninterrupted time away from the ground.
Take your entertainment into your own hands! Download a few new playlists, shows or podcasts on your phone. I recommend downloading these on your phone instead of your tablet or computer to keep you sane while waiting in long lines at the ticket counter, TSA, boarding and baggage claim as well as on your flight! Downloading all your entertainment is key since good and free airport wifi can be a challenge. Just don't forget your headphones!

Bring your own empty to-go cup and some nice tea and ask the flight attendant to fill your cup up with hot water for you. This is a new thing I have been doing and loving it. If you happen to remember to pick up a little TSA regulated container of posh honey before your flight, even better! We all know how incredibly dehydrating flying is and this makes staying hydrated a bit more fun. I shoot for at least 16 ounces of H2O for every hour I am flying.

Bring another layer, regardless of how hot it is outside. The planes temperature is extremely hard to regulate so you should expect to be freezing to hot in a few seconds! Just be prepared with layers.

Bring a book you have been looking forward to reading but haven't had time to. A few hours of flight time is a perfect time to get a few chapters in without any interuptions. Reading a great book you are excited about while flying is a very easy way to help you relax and is certain to make the time go by quicker.

Bring healthy snacks. For some reason, I always get super hungry while I am flying. Nothing is worse than starving on a plane and only having nasty, expensive options available. Fruit I recommend packing in your carry on are clementines and cut up pineapple. Some other options are skinny pop, unsalted almonds, mini packets of justin's almond butter with cut up apples or kale chips. Look out for a longer list coming soon with more ideas of healthy snacks to bring on flights!

Obviously we all know planes dry out your skin, too! Pack your baby lips chapstick for some quick color and hydration on board. as well as your hand creme and your face moisturizer if it is under the TSA regulated size. Save the big makeup touch ups for the airport bathroom after your off the plane!

WEAR FLATS. I am not telling you to dress down by any means. In fact, I hope you dress up for your flight like most self respecting and travel savvy women do. I know, I know, you love your heels but air travel is just not the time to show off how well you can strut your stuff in a pair of super tall high heels. After seeing way too many women make this mistake I can promise you that you will end up looking like you are trying too hard and you will be very uncomfortable no matter how good you look. There are so many cute and classy flats these days! Save your feet!
