I cannot imagine my life without Yoga.
Every single time I decide to take the time out for myself to stretch and BREATHE I always feel incredible afterwards. It helps to calm me down, reduce stress and tension, reminds me to be kind to myself first and then to others. It reminds me to be grateful and to connect to the current moment and accept it. Yoga is one thing that is CONSTANT in my ever changing life. No matter what I am doing or where in the world I am, it is something that will always work to make me feel good. It is free and you don't need anything to do it, not even need a yoga mat!
During the past few years since I began my Yoga practice, some people have told me that they would love to start doing Yoga but don't have the time or money to go to a studio. Many people also feel embarrassed being complete beginners and going to a class with people more advanced then they are and being nervous about what to expect. Hearing this always breaks my heart a little bit because Yoga is NOT found in the studio. It is so, so much better to start your practice at home and experiencing the benefits on your own, in your own home and at your own pace.
I LOVE doing Youtube videos for all different types of yoga and there are so many Yoga videos out there for total newbies you can find. I ADORE the Yoga Camp series below which is 30 days of Yoga for newbies or people that have been practicing for a while. One of my favorite Yoga YouTube teachers is Adriene. I am just starting this 30 day Yoga Camp she offers online for free.
Don't worry about not doing something right. As Adriene says, "Just find what feels good". Your body will let you know if you are way off and it is so important to be patient and loving with yourself and ease off if you feel pain in any pose.
You will NEVER regret starting a yoga practice. The benefits it will have on your life are out of this world.
