Many of you know that Dave and I live in Easterlin. We have been living in her, our 23 foot camper, for about a month now. Hard to believe! We drove her from Fort Lauderdale to her current home in Las Vegas. We love it here. This RV park is heaven on earth. It is so quiet and our spot is tucked far back in the corner of this huge park. There is a ton of security here and the pools - ohmygoodness, the pools! There are 2 huge pools. An adult one and a family one. The family one has a fake beach and a waterfall and the adult one has a tiki lookout nearby and a big hot tub, too. We love biking to the pools here almost every day.
Life in Easterlin has been good. Very simple, stress free and easy. I feel like important things are easier to get done because there is no distractions. I love how everything I need is within a few feet from each other and how much more often we spend time outside. We have a little hammock set up in the back with pillows in it which is a lovely place to watch movies at night on a laptop.
I gave away almost all my possessions long before thinking about living in a camper but now living here causes me to continuously question how much I need a certain item in my life because storage space is VERY tight. I am now sure to get rid of anything that no longer serves me or brings me joy with no questions asked. I want to live a life of quality instead of quantity. I don't want to live a life organizing all my worthless clutter. I must be honest, recently I got so, so sick of my very limited items in my closet that I caved and bought some not so quality items for my wardrobe. However, the whole capsule wardrobe idea is still my ultimate goal I am working towards. It takes time to build a closet of true, quality clothing and this in between phase is a bit hard but after getting rid of countless trash bags of unnecessary thrift store finds from my lifetime, I know I am doing better now and will eventually have a quality capsule wardrobe of only some key pieces I adore.
I love the lessons living in such a small area has taught me about cleanliness, organization, having less things. Having less distractions has been good for me.
As far as living in a teeny, tiny camper with my significant other and having days on end off together because of our work schedule has actually so far been a breeze. We have been loving living on the west coast thus far because there is just so much to do and so many things on our list that we are looking forward to! Living in such a small space has actually been good for our relationship. It is easier to flow with another person when you are in a tight place together and as long as you have a good friendship, it has been quite enjoyable for us. We love doing everything together so the one tiny room living is awesome. Plus, if we need to get some alone time, the hammock out back is ideal.
