Santa Barbara

This post is a continuation of our Pacific Coast Highway road trip.
Check out the first parts of this series here:  SAN DIEGO  // & // HUNTINGTON

After our workout and brunch our last morning in Huntington, we took a quick shower and said farewell to the Huntington Beach Airstream and hit the road for Santa Barbara. After an hour of driving we took a break to go to the free aquarium at the end of the pier in Manhattan Beach, take a little walk and get some iced coffee. Manhattan Beach is probably my favorite so cal city and where I always go during my LA work layovers. It was nice to stop in such a familiar place for a bit.

We arrived in Santa Barbara's Auto Camp and I was blown away by how cute the Airstream was that we would be staying at! I felt as if I had stepped into a Pinterest picture. I love all white and minimalist rooms and this Airstream was the most ideal simple and pure white space I've ever laid eyes on. I instantly fell in love with the little details of the design. It is even filled with all the kitchen tools you could want, coffee and the nice toiletries. If you are into the whole tiny house thing as well and want to experience what it could be like living in one for an evening, I highly recommend checking out Auto Camp in Santa Barbara.
We got dinner at Miso Hungry which was a place that makes sushi into huge burritos instead of little rolls. It was wild! At night, we walked to Trader Joe's and talked outside in the chairs next to the airstream. There were the cutest little lights outside and it was nice to have our own private little backyard area. Even though there was lots going on right out on the street, we didn't care to leave our sweet little place.
Early in the morning, we went on a long bike ride with the beach cruiser bikes provided with the Airstream. It was so fun to explore the pretty water front, wooded neighborhoods and the nice downtown by bike. Santa Barbara is a pretty unique and incredible place to see. It reminded me of a seaside village in Europe. I especially enjoyed how there were mountains everywhere you looked, the Spanish vibes to all the buildings downtown and all the big trees lining the neighborhood we stayed in. Afterwards Dave went to Trader Joe's to pick up some breakfast items and I made us scrambled eggs with some delicious tomato on the side.
After leaving Santa Barbara we did an intense hike for a few hours at the Gaviota State park and walked along the rocky coast before heading to Cambria, CA to stay at a little cottage guest house called the "Hobbit House". We made one quick pit stop at a winery for a glass of wine on the way. We drove thru countless vineyards and lush green fields. It was hard to believe that it was mid November!
